Urban Food Alliance is excited to announce a collaboration with the town of South Brunswick, NJ. South Brunswick residents often mistakenly think that food insecurity is not a problem that people in our area have to deal with. We do not see homeless people sleeping or begging on the streets and are lulled into the false belief that others are doing as well as we are. Mushi Bhuiyan, CEO of Urban Food Alliance, was invited to a meeting with the mayor, police department, and the Department of Social Services to discuss our efforts to end hunger. This meeting allowed us to identify needs within our own community, and we have been working diligently to address those needs. Ongoing relationships with the Department of Social Services will ensure that needs continue to be identified and met throughout the year.
