What is the application deadline and when will orientation take place?

The application deadline has been extended to May 11, 2025. The internship orientation will be held on May 27, 2025.

Who is eligible for the UFA internship program

We welcome applications from college students, recent graduates, career changers, and experienced professionals interested in food justice and sustainability.

How can I apply for the summer bootcamp?

You can apply for the summer bootcamp through the link on our portal.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the internship?

Yes, upon successful completion of the internship program, you will receive a certificate recognizing your contributions.

What types of internships are available?

We offer a variety of technical and non-technical internships in areas like software engineering, QA, project management, data analysis, digital marketing, communications, and more.

What kind of projects will I be working on during the internship?

During your internship at UFA, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and impactful projects depending on your skills and interests. We are actively seeking interns to contribute to the following areas:   Software Engineering: Design and develop software solutions to improve our internal systems, streamline processes, and enhance the user experience on our website and platforms. IT Production Support: Help maintain and troubleshoot our technology infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any technical issues that may arise. Software Testing: Conduct rigorous testing of our software applications to identify and fix bugs, ensuring high quality and reliability. Project Management: Assist in planning, executing, and tracking project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. IT Operations: Monitor and maintain our IT systems and networks, ensuring optimal performance and security. Business Analysis: Analyze business needs and requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and work with developers to implement solutions. Mobile App Development: Create and improve mobile applications that enhance our outreach and engagement with communities. Generative AI & Bot Creation: Explore and develop innovative applications of generative AI, including creating chatbots, generating content, and automating tasks.Content Generation: Produce high-quality written and visual content for our website, social media channels, and marketing materials.   We believe in providing interns with meaningful, hands-on experience that aligns with their interests and career goals. Will the summer bootcamp be fully remote?

Yes, the summer bootcamp is 100% remote, allowing you to participate from anywhere with an internet connection.

What kind of support can I expect as an intern?

You will be assigned a mentor who will provide guidance and support throughout your internship. You will also have opportunities to participate in professional development workshops and networking events.

Will I receive a stipend or compensation for my participation?

This is a pro bono internship program, so it is unpaid. However, you will gain valuable experience, training, and networking opportunities.

Will I receive training or mentorship during the internship?

Yes, you will receive training and mentorship from experienced professionals throughout your internship.

Is there a minimum time commitment required for interns?

We expect interns to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours per week.
