Urban Food Alliance: Delivering Warm Meals and Hope in South Brunswick and Trenton
South Brunswick, NJ (May 20, 2023) – When the skies of South Brunswick and Trenton, New Jersey, are painted grey with rain, many would choose to stay indoors. But for us at Urban Food Alliance (UFA), the rain is an invitation to bolster our mission: solving food insecurity and its determinants.
On this rainy day, despite a low turnout of volunteers, our dedicated team came together to ensure those in need received their warm meals. As Mushi Bhuiyan, co-founder of UFA, I was fortunate to have my wife Ally, along with our friends Jawad, Carlo, Ram, Scotty, and Sam, join us on our mission. Behind the scenes, countless unsung heroes lent their support, showcasing the unyielding spirit of UFA.
With each delivery, we were greeted by the radiant smiles of senior citizens who couldn't venture out in the rain. Serving warm meals to these wonderful people is a testament to UFA's dedication to curbing food insecurity, even in the face of adversity.
