COVID-19 Food Assistance: Urban Food Alliance's Rapid Response Efforts

Updated: Nov 6, 2023

With advent of COVID-19, everybody's world is turned upside down, Urban food Alliance has had to adjust its meal making and delivery practices.

Food Distribution by South Brunswick Police Department

Urban Food Alliance (UFA) is working with the South Brunswick Police Department. We will be providing food at the township building to distribute in South Brunswick and surrounding areas. Due to contamination concerns, the SB Food Pantry has closed, and clients are asked to call the police department for help instead. As of April 10, the SB Police Department has held 2 food and donation drives. While the response from our caring citizens has been incredible, it is, unfortunately, still not enough.

Food Pick-up at Khan Baba

To ensure that people have food at home, Urban Food Alliance is temporarily switching gears and joining the effort of the Police Department to feed people in need of help. We will also be putting together boxes of groceries and invite those who need them to come to Khan Baba Restaurant on Rt. 27 in Franklin Park on Fridays to pick one up.

The boxes can contain either non-perishables only, or a combination of non-perishables and perishables, including milk and uncooked meat.

Everywhere, people are uniting to combat the tragic outcomes of this terrible disease. If you are able to donate, please visit our website and help us help those in need!

At this time, quantities will be limited, and people will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to be able to help more families, we need monetary donations!
